Additional Rules for Interactive features such as Forums, Blogs and Mailing Lists:
When you use a forum, blog or mailing list, you have access to hundreds of queries/answers that are asked by colleagues. You can also write an email to the forum, blog or mailing list – anything from ideas on how to teach the Spanish subjunctive, to how to provide more opportunities for speaking practice, to useful tools for teaching particular topics.
Guidelines: Members’ full name should be included with all messages posted by default. You may not post, communicate, or otherwise distribute any material that may be unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, infringing on any copyright or other rights of others, or damaging to software or hardware. Postings are expected to be professional in nature at all times – for example personalised comments should not be used. PPLI will make every effort to ensure that this professional tone is maintained and have set up a system of moderation to try to ensure that these guidelines are adhered to.
Commercial recommendations for various products and services are welcome as long as they are in context – i.e. rather than promoting a product/service, recommendations should be in response to a member query. In addition, recommendations from any members who are also interested parties in a product/service should be clearly highlighted in order to provide the full context of any/all recommendations.
Liability and Responsibility
You are legally responsible, and solely responsible, for any content that you post to a discussion. You may only post materials that you have the right or permission to distribute electronically. You agree to hold the sponsors of the PPLI Mailing Lists harmless from any and all liability arising from your posting of any materials.
PPLI can not and does not guarantee the accuracy of any statements made in or materials posted to the PPLI Mailing Lists by participants. Participants are assumed to be speaking in their personal capacity, unless they explicitly state that their contribution represents the views of their organization.
Copyright and Fair Use
As a registered user of the site and participant in the PPLI Mailing Lists, you retain copyright of any materials of your own creation on the Mailing Lists. Members are not authorised to reproduce or disseminate those materials outside the context of the mailing lists, unless specific permission is granted by the member.
PPLI retain the right to refuse to post any message that they consider to be in violation of the above rules and guidelines, and may publish the messages posted to the PPLI Mailing Lists in whole or in part.
